The problem
Home renovation pricing is notoriously opaque. Homeowners routinely face wildly different contractor quotes for the same project, with no way to know which price is fair. Most online cost estimators provide vague national averages that ignore your local labor market — and most "free" renovation content exists to sell your contact information to contractors.
Our approach
Renovio uses real labor market data. Your ZIP code maps to your metro area, and we look up actual hourly wages for every trade involved in your project — plumbers, electricians, carpenters, painters — from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Material costs are tiered by quality, and contractor overhead is applied the way contractors actually bill it. The full formula is public on our methodology page.
What we don't do
- We don't sell leads. No contractor pays us to be recommended.
- We don't require an account to see a number.
- We don't inflate ranges to make a referral look like savings.
The iOS app
The website gives you the local range; the Renovio iOS app lets you build your exact number — line-item scope, LiDAR floor plans, receipt tracking, and contractor-ready quotes, all computed privately on your phone.
